Freddie W. George

Freddie W. George, 52, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:07 A.M., Monday, January 6, 2003 at his residence.
Freddie was a laborer at Five Star Industries in Du Quoin.  He had also played Santa Claus for the Du Quoin Eagles, Du Quoin Jaycees and at Wal-Mart for many years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Du Quoin, Du Quoin Eagles, Du Quoin Jaycees, and was involved with the Jaycees Toys for Tots program.
He was born September 8, 1950 at Kankakee, IL, the son of Nelson O. and Perthenia W. (Miller) George.
He is survived by two sister - June Ralston and Lillie Mae Baker both of Du Quoin, several nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers - James and Orval and one sister - Janie George.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in DuBois, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the Jaycees Toys for Tots.
